Welcome to the website of Washington Heights Musical Society!
Washington Heights Musical Society, based in upper Manhattan, is a series of concerts and educational workshops inspired by music in history. The society’s mission is to promote professional musicians of Washington Heights and to enrich the musical offerings of the neighborhood.
All Concerts in the current season take place at the historic Holyrood Episcopal Church on 179th Street and Fort Washington Avenue.
- Sunday May 25th, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Allemagnetti Duo. Maggie Snyder, Viola, and Alexandra Dunbar, harpsichord will present a recital featuring music for viola and harpsichord. The program features many contrasting works from the great masters to modern composers, including a piece written for the duo by Garrett Byrnes. Other works performed will be by JS Bach, Kenji Bunch, Astor Piazzolla, and Edmund Rubbra. The special feature of the program will be the New York Premiere of “Quelques Dances” by living American composer Walter Ross. Free and open to the public, $20 Suggested Donation.
