Welcome to the website of Washington Heights Musical Society!
Washington Heights Musical Society, based in upper Manhattan, is a series of concerts and educational workshops inspired by music in history. The society’s mission is to promote professional musicians of Washington Heights and to enrich the musical offerings of the neighborhood.
If you or anyone you know would like to be considered to perform a concert in the 2015-2016 season, please have them reach out to administration at firstname.lastname@example.org with concert ideas. We will be accepting applications through June, 2015. Musicians with completed program concepts who live in Upper Manhattan will get highest priority. Concerts relating to the history of music in New York City, and particularly upper Manhattan, are particularly desired. A small honorarium per-concert (not per musician) will be awarded to the accepted programs.
PARENTS: Please note that Washington Heights Musical Society has now committed to having FREE musical childcare at every event in the 2015-2016 series! Teachers at these events are local music teachers.
The construction of Holyrood Church’s current location was completed in the year 1914. Come celebrate the church building’s 100th year anniversary with amazing music.
All Concerts in the current season take place at the historic Holyrood Episcopal Church on 179th Street and Fort Washington Avenue.
If you are interested in performing at Holyrood Church, please contact us.
