Welcome to the website of Washington Heights Musical Society!
Washington Heights Musical Society, based in upper Manhattan, is a series of concerts and educational workshops inspired by music in history. The society’s mission is to promote professional musicians of Washington Heights and to enrich the musical offerings of the neighborhood.
- Sunday, November 16th at 3:00 PM. Anna Khanina, Piano, and Stanichka Dimitrova, Violin.
Anna and Stani will play pieces by Felix Borowsky and Ovide Musin that were performed on a concert in the year 1904 at the original Holyrood Church, when Washington Heights was a neighborhood of estates and farmlands. Other music on the program is by Franz Schubert, Clara Schumann, and Claude Debussy.
The construction of Holyrood Church’s current location was completed in the year 1914. Come celebrate the church building’s 100th year anniversary with amazing music.
All Concerts in the current season take place at the historic Holyrood Episcopal Church on 179th Street and Fort Washington Avenue.
